Ryan’s Eagle Project 1

Ryan organized a trail maintenance project in Florida Canyon in Balboa Park.  Hikers and bikers have damaged the vegetation and caused land erosion by leaving the trail.  Troop 20 constructed a fence line along a portion of the trail made of treated fenceposts anchored firmly in the ground with concrete.  Under Ryan’s leadership, 7 scouts as well as parents and friends made a lasting improvement to the park for the citizens of San Diego to enjoy.  Participating were:  Tem, Stephen, John L., John T., Eric, Mike, and Chad.  In addition to the fencing, trail damage to a portion of the trail caused by the recent record setting rains was repaired by making a retaining wall of chain link fence and then filling the eroded area with rocks and decomposed granite.
