We entered through the West Entrance on Park Boulevard down past the Boy Scout Trailhead we had used in April 2005 and took the road to the Lost Horse Mine Trailhead (N33 57 03 W116 09 36).  There is a nice four mile round trip hike to the site of the old Lost Horse Mine (N33 56 28 W116 08 13) (map) from the 1890’s with a interesting history of partner Johnny Lang stealing gold from his partner.  Beautiful views with the Yucca blooming in some areas.
