We had lunch back at the trailhead, sharing sandwiches and fruit for those who hadn’t brought enough for lunch.  Around 1PM we drove the short distance to the south to Keys View (N33 55 37 W116 11 14) with the spectacular views of the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs.  The skies were clear and you could make out Signal Mountain down in Mexico as you looked across the Salton Sea.  Great pictures.  Lots of wind today which made it cold in our red T-shirts.
