On Saturday the scouts cooked breakfast and worked on advancement requirements before making a road trip down to La Bufadora south of Ensenada.  La Bufadora is located near the tip of the Punta Banda peninsula.  Map The coastline forms a “V” shape here focusing the ocean swell into the narrow tunnel-like entrance to a cave.  Air and spray are forced out of the cave as it fills, followed by a spectacular marine geyser, sometimes reaching 60 feet in the air.

Troop 20 has camped in Mexico several times in the past, with our most recent trip in 2004 at the Las Palmas Campground in La Mision.  This year the campground was full, so we drove further down the coast to the Playa Saldamando Campground overlooking the Ocean between Rosarita and Ensenada.  Map  We had Friday dinner at a Taco shop in La Mision before setting up camp.  The scouts started a roaring fire from sparks from steel and a magnesium block.
