Troop Guide
Description: Each new-Scout patrol in a troop should have its own Troop Guide. A Troop Guide is an older scout who holds the rank of First Class or Higher, has strong teaching skills, and possesses the patience to work with new scouts. The Troop Guide accompanies the new-scout patrol on campouts and makes himself available to assist the new scouts as they learn fundamental scouting skills. He is a member of the Patrol Leader Council (PLC).

as SPL, ASPL, PL or APL

Specific Duties:
- Introduce new Scouts to Troop Operations.
- Guide new Scouts through early scouting activities.
- Shield new Scouts from harassment by older Scouts.
- Help new Scouts earn the First Class rank in their first year.
- Teach basic Scout skills.
- Enthusiastically wears
the Scout uniform correctly.
- Lives by the Scout Oath
and Law.
- Show and help develop
Scout spirit.
